My name is Jennifer; a long time sufferer of Candida, who is looking for advice on how to safely rid myself and my son (fussy eater) of this condition.
Aside from my own struggles with this condition; I also require insight to help my son, who has Candida.

Welcome Jennifer. It’s uncanny how many of us come to health via Candida. I surely did. It is such a debilitating imbalance. For me the shame that was connected to many of my symptoms was the most difficult. I had such bad ‘thrush’ during my first pregnancy I had to douche every day. Which only made it worse. My perineum was so affected, it tore like wet tissue when my huge son came out. He of course got a nice dose of Candida from my vaginal walls as he exited, which took years to overcome. He still has compromised digestion.
My main suggestion for you would be bone broth to heal the bowel walls. Stop all grains (that’s ALL grains) for at least two weeks. (I did for four years) And return only when you’ve completely recovered. So soups made on broth, fermented vegetables, biltong, animal foods - cooked and raw, mostly cooked vegetables, mucous rebuilder, lots of oysters, butter, cod liver oil. No refined anything or fruit. After a while you may be able to have real raw dairy (avoid pasteurised) and very well fermented grains like in our dosa’s recipe.
There’s plenty of support here Jennifer. Perhaps one day you may be able to support others to heal their Candida with all you learn. Welcome to a new world of Nourishment.
Blessings

Hi Jennifer,
Candida (a yeast like fungal Condition) is a detoxification of accumulated toxins which should be allowed to be active as it is actually quite helpful. Assuming that you and your son eat according to WAP principles, it is safe and beneficial to allow this process to occur. If however the condition should become rampant, I suggest you blend 4 tablespoons of fresh lime juice, 1-2 tablespoons of unheated honey, and 1-2 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar, together with about half a cup of naturally sparkling mineral water, and drink 1 mouthful every 4 hours( or as close as possible) for three consecutive days ( i’m unsure how your son will like this). This combination ( a Primal diet recipe) has worked for myself and several clients but is only a temporary measure. Ultimately, only a healthful diet consisting of plenty of raw foods will safely rid you of Candida. As stated earlier, think of your Candida as a tool for the removal of little stagnant pools of blood that result from internal lesions caused by toxicity. It cleans the system by consumming these degenerated tissues. To destroy the Candida would also destroy this vital process toward better health. Only when there is no further degenerated tissue to detoxify will your symptoms cease. Thinking about the process in this way should make your symptoms tolerable.
Hope this helps.

I suffered from candida too, for 15 years, and I think I have nearly successfully eradicated it. Go to my blog: http://constantstateofflux.wordpress.com and click on candida in category list on the right hand side to see some posts. I have used a few products and also some ‘mental therapy’, which started the healing process and then my changing diet has supported these products’ work. I have yet to take a colon cleanse, but I feel this is an important step for anyone with candida to take.
Feel free to ask me any questions!

first of all, thank you very much to everyone who has responded… words of encouragement alone are enough to boost my spirits and help me to believe that both myself and my son (a 7 year sufferer - who was initially misdiagnosed as being autistic)can overcome this… i was having serious doubts for a while, and afraid for the both of us.
if i could ask one more question (which may sound silly, but if you continue reading, you’ll understand why i ask…). I would like to know “how i will know i’ve completely overcome candida” as it turns out i’ve had some variation of it for most of my life… while my son was diagnosed with autism, but it was candida… i’ve recently learned that the meningitis i had at the age of 2, was actually a candida overgrowth precipitated by the moldy conditions of an apartment my family had at the time. i’ve also had dandruff issues as a teenager, not to mention acne that wouldn’t clear up no matter what i tried… all due to this condition. so, this is why i would like to know what definate markers i can look foward to, should i manage to completely rid myself of the condition?
thanks to all (in advance) who read this and also to those who respond… it means a lot!!!

Hello Jennifer,
After a long suffering of Candida, over 25 years. This has led me to a true life story of why Candida is truely an Epidemic. I have searched the world over for the answer for the Candida problem. I have found that all other cures are just symptom relief.
The Candida epidemic is the result of an imbalance in our digestive tract. The one strain of bacteria that keeps the candida in check in our intestines is not there. This is a SBO (soil borne organism). I have written a small booklet about this and can send it to you via email. This booklet tells the story of Candida I have discovered. I have found the supply of this SBO and have been using it in my healing program for over 5 years and have had very high success rate with total elimination of systemic Candida, when the protocol is followed.
Please feel free to contact me via email at vibranthealthfoundation@gmail.com
Thank you and wishing you WELL,

Hi Jennifer,
It appears that you have received some good advice already! A few other areas to look at include but not limited to are probiotics, pH, and bowel function. Good bacteria may help with controlling the bad; proper pH may help to control the growth of unwanted “critters”; and daily eliminations are critical.
Also is the probability of parasites and leaky gut. Overgrowth of candida is usually not an isolated issue.
Be blessed.

I suffered with candida for 53 years until i was advised by a naturopath to take colloidal silver.
I started taking Keith Courtenay’s silver following his instructions for the dosage which is on his website
houseofcourtenay.wetpaint.com and by the second month my candida had gone.. If i feel it returning i just up the dosage and it goes.
I have tried many things but this has definitely eliminated it.

The main therapies I undertook to cure me from recurring candida episodes was 1) high quality probiotics (Replete HMF), 2) colonics, 3) hyponosis. It took a couple of years, but I haven’t had an episode since pregnancy… about a year ago. And that eposide I can confidently say was BECAUSE of pregnancy.
Hope this helps.
